Her experience in education spans 30 years, as a teacher and an administrator for grades pre-kindergarten through high school. She has also reviewed federal grants for both the Department of Education and the Department of Health and Human Services. This provides an opportunity to become aware of other grant projects and to improve her grant-writing craft. Conducting formal evaluations also aids in planning future projects and writing proposals.

Connie McKee has been writing grant proposals and training others to write them for 15 years. She established Grant Connections after winning more than $10 million in grants in ten years for a small school district in Tennessee. Through Grant Connections, her clients have included school districts, schools, afterschool programs and faith-based institutions working with students. She has helped clients and workshop participants secure an additional $2 million.
